Fried Codfish And Potato Balls
Ingredients
- 1 package prepared shredded codfish
- 3 cups mashed potatoes
- 2 tablespoons grated onion
- 4 tablespoons finely minced parsley
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Flour for rolling
- 1 egg, beaten
- Milk for dipping
- Fine breadcrumbs
- Hot fat for frying
Method
- 1 Plunge the shredded codfish into hot water four or five times, then squeeze dry in a cheese-cloth.
- 2 Mash 3 cups of potatoes and mix thoroughly with the fish, onion, parsley, paprika, milk, and butter.
- 3 Mold the mixture into small balls, then roll each ball in flour.
- 4 Dip the floured balls in a mixture of beaten egg and milk, then roll in fine breadcrumbs.
- 5 Fry the balls in hot fat until golden brown.
