Fried Cheese And Vermicelli Fritters
Ingredients
- 4 ounces vermicelli
- 4 ounces grated cheese
- 1 pint milk
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- Egg and bread crumbs
- 1 ounce grated cheese (for coating)
Method
- 1 Break up vermicelli and mix with 3 ounces of cheese in a pie dish. Add salt, pepper, and milk.
- 2 Bake for about 30 minutes, stirring once or twice at the beginning, until cold and firm.
- 3 Cut the baked mixture into squares or shapes. Mix remaining 1 ounce of cheese into bread crumbs.
- 4 Roll pieces in egg, then in the cheese-breadcrumb mixture. Fry in boiling oil until crisp and brown.
