Fried Cheese And Vegetable Polenta Sausages
Ingredients
- 2 ½ cups boiling water
- 1 ½ teaspoons salt
- ¾ cup yellow cornmeal
- ¾ cup cheese, cut into fine pieces
- 1 onion, chopped fine
- 1 green pepper, chopped fine
- 1 leek, chopped fine
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- flour, for rolling
- oil, for frying
- tomato sauce, for serving
Method
- 1 Combine boiling water and salt in a saucepan.
- 2 Slowly pour in cornmeal, stirring constantly to prevent lumps.
- 3 Cook until the mixture is very thick.
- 4 Stir in cheese, onion, green pepper, leek, and paprika.
- 5 Pour into a bowl and let cool completely.
- 6 Form the mixture into sausage shapes, roll in flour, and brown in hot oil.
- 7 Serve with tomato sauce.
