Fresh Peach Shortcake With Whipped Cream
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 1/2 cups sifted flour
- pinch of salt
- ice water
- fresh peaches
- sugar
- sweetened whipped cream
Method
- 1 Rub 1/2 cup butter into 1 1/2 cups sifted flour with a pinch of salt.
- 2 Add enough ice water to form a smooth paste.
- 3 Roll out the dough and shape into flat round cakes.
- 4 Bake until brown.
- 5 Tear the baked cakes apart while hot.
- 6 Fill with fresh peaches crushed with sugar.
- 7 Cover with the other cake half, spread more peaches on top, and pile high with sweetened whipped cream.
