Fresh Peach Shortcake With Whipped Cream

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 1/2 cups sifted flour
  • pinch of salt
  • ice water
  • fresh peaches
  • sugar
  • sweetened whipped cream

Method

  1. 1 Rub 1/2 cup butter into 1 1/2 cups sifted flour with a pinch of salt.
  2. 2 Add enough ice water to form a smooth paste.
  3. 3 Roll out the dough and shape into flat round cakes.
  4. 4 Bake until brown.
  5. 5 Tear the baked cakes apart while hot.
  6. 6 Fill with fresh peaches crushed with sugar.
  7. 7 Cover with the other cake half, spread more peaches on top, and pile high with sweetened whipped cream.
