Fresh Ground Mustard

Ingredients

  • 1 cup mustard flour
  • 1 cup vinegar, white wine, or cold water
  • 1 tbsp scraped horseradish
  • 1 tsp salt (optional)

Method

  1. 1 Boil the scraped horseradish in the vinegar, wine, or water.
  2. 2 Place mustard flour in a mortar and gradually add the warm liquid.
  3. 3 Rub the mixture vigorously for at least ten minutes until perfectly smooth.
  4. 4 Stir in salt if desired, then transfer to a stone jar and seal tightly.
