Fresh Ginger Water Ice

Ingredients

  • 6 ounces fresh ginger root
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Method

  1. 1 Grind 4 ounces of ginger through a meat grinder and finely chop the remaining 2 ounces.
  2. 2 Boil sugar and water together for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in lemon juice and ground ginger.
  3. 3 Let the mixture cool completely, then stir in the chopped ginger bits.
  4. 4 Freeze the mixture in an ice cream maker according to manufacturer's directions.
  5. 5 Let the ice stand for 2 hours after freezing to improve texture before serving.
