Fresh Fruit Syrup

Ingredients

  • 1 quart fresh strawberries, raspberries, cherries, or currants
  • 1 pint water
  • Sugar to taste
  • Water to taste
  • Cracked ice for serving

Method

  1. 1 Cook the fruit with water in a pot until well softened.
  2. 2 Strain the mixture and press out the juice through a heavy cloth.
  3. 3 Let the juice cool completely.
  4. 4 Sweeten and dilute with water to taste.
  5. 5 Serve in glasses filled with cracked ice.
