Fresh Fruit Cake
Ingredients
- 2 teaspoons butter
- 1 egg
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup sugar
- ½ cup milk
- 1¾ cups flour
- 2 scant teaspoons baking powder
- Fresh fruit of any kind
Method
- 1 Cream together butter, sugar, egg, milk, salt, and flour. Beat well.
- 2 Mix in baking powder and turn batter into a shallow, well-buttered pan.
- 3 Cover the bottom of the pan with fresh fruit of any kind.
- 4 Bake in a moderate oven (350°F) for one-half hour.
- 5 Serve warm with cream or sauce.
