French Toast
Ingredients
- 1 pint milk
- Cinnamon or nutmeg to taste
- 4 slices homemade bread, ½ inch thick, crusts removed
- Butter for frying
Method
- 1 Sweeten the milk and flavor with cinnamon or nutmeg to taste.
- 2 Soak the bread slices in the custard until fully absorbed, turning them once.
- 3 Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat.
- 4 Fry the bread slices until golden brown on both sides.
- 5 Arrange on a platter and serve with or without sauce.
