Flour Sweet Milk Cornbread
Ingredients
- 1 cup corn meal
- 1 cup flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/4 cups sweet milk
Method
- 1 Sift the flour and baking powder together.
- 2 Mix in the corn meal, sugar, and salt.
- 3 Beat the egg and combine with the milk and melted butter.
- 4 Pour the wet ingredients into the dry and stir until just combined.
- 5 Bake in a hot oven (425°F) until golden brown.
