Flour Coated Braised Onions
Ingredients
- medium-sized onions
- 1 tablespoon shortening
- flour
- 4 tablespoons water
Method
- 1 Peel the onions, parboil them, and drain well.
- 2 Heat shortening in a saucepan. Roll onions in flour and brown lightly in the fat.
- 3 Cover the pan closely, add water, and cook very slowly for 20 minutes, shaking occasionally.
