Flemish Beef Stew With Beer And Mustard

Ingredients

  • 4 lbs beef neck, cut into small squares
  • Refined fat (for frying)
  • 5 large onions, finely chopped
  • Pepper and salt to taste
  • Mixed herbs
  • Water
  • ½ glass beer
  • 1 slice bread crumb
  • Mustard
  • 3 tbsp vinegar
  • Flour (for thickening)

Method

  1. 1 Cut beef into small squares and fry in a pan with refined fat.
  2. 2 In another pan, fry chopped onions until well browned.
  3. 3 Add meat to onions, sprinkle with pepper, salt, and mixed herbs. Cover with water and simmer for 1 hour with lid on.
  4. 4 Add beer, bread crumb with mustard, and vinegar. Cook for another 45 minutes.
  5. 5 If sauce is thin, add a little flour and boil until thickened.
