Flemish Beef Stew With Beer And Mustard
Ingredients
- 4 lbs beef neck, cut into small squares
- Refined fat (for frying)
- 5 large onions, finely chopped
- Pepper and salt to taste
- Mixed herbs
- Water
- ½ glass beer
- 1 slice bread crumb
- Mustard
- 3 tbsp vinegar
- Flour (for thickening)
Method
- 1 Cut beef into small squares and fry in a pan with refined fat.
- 2 In another pan, fry chopped onions until well browned.
- 3 Add meat to onions, sprinkle with pepper, salt, and mixed herbs. Cover with water and simmer for 1 hour with lid on.
- 4 Add beer, bread crumb with mustard, and vinegar. Cook for another 45 minutes.
- 5 If sauce is thin, add a little flour and boil until thickened.
