Flavored Butter Loaf Cake
Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups sugar
- 4 egg yolks
- 6 ounces butter
- 4 cups flour
- 5 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon flavoring
- 1 ¼ cups milk
- 4 egg whites
Method
- 1 In a mixing bowl, cream 1 ½ cups sugar and 4 egg yolks until well blended.
- 2 Add 6 ounces butter and cream again.
- 3 Add 4 cups flour, 5 teaspoons baking powder, 1 teaspoon flavoring, and 1 ¼ cups milk. Beat to mix.
- 4 Cut and fold in the stiffly beaten whites of 4 eggs.
- 5 Place in a well-greased and floured loaf-shaped pan and bake for 50 minutes in a moderate oven (350°F).
