Flamed Stuffed Apples With Jam Syrup
Ingredients
- apples
- sugar
- water
- apricot or raspberry jam
- rum or brandy
Method
- 1 Pare and core the apples.
- 2 Stew the apples in sugar and water until tender but firm enough to hold their shape.
- 3 Remove the apples carefully to a serving dish.
- 4 Fill the centers of the apples with apricot or raspberry jam.
- 5 Boil down the cooking liquid to a thick syrup and pour it over the apples.
- 6 Just before serving, pour a few spoonfuls of rum or brandy over the apples.
- 7 Light the alcohol with a taper on the table and serve with fancy cakes.
