  • 1 loaf white bread
  • Butter, for spreading

Method

  1. 1 Split the figs, remove skins, and mash the flesh into a smooth paste.
  2. 2 Butter the bread slices before cutting them into thin slices and removing crusts.
  3. 3 Spread the fig paste thickly over the buttered bread slices.
  4. 4 Roll the bread tightly, press briefly to seal, and wrap in tissue paper or ribbon.
