Egg Yolk And White Cream Toast
Ingredients
- bread slices
- butter
- hot water
- 6 eggs
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp flour
- 1 cup cream or milk
- salt
- pepper
Method
- 1 Cut bread into even pieces, toast them, and butter the slices. Moisten with hot water.
- 2 Boil eggs hard. Separate whites and yolks. Chop the whites finely and press the yolks through a sieve.
- 3 Melt 1 tbsp butter, stir in 1 tbsp flour, and add 1 cup cream or milk. Cook until thickened.
- 4 Stir chopped egg whites into the sauce with salt and pepper. Spread over the toast slices.
- 5 Sprinkle the mashed egg yolks evenly over the top. Serve very hot.
