Egg Glazed Yeast Rolls
Ingredients
- 1 cup scalded milk
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 half cake yeast
- 1/2 cup warm water
- 3 cups flour
- 1 egg, beaten
Method
- 1 Mix scalded milk with butter. When cool, add sugar, salt, and yeast dissolved in warm water.
- 2 Add flour to make a soft dough. Mix thoroughly and knead for 15 minutes.
- 3 Set dough to rise in a warm place for 3-4 hours until light.
- 4 Knead again, shape into balls, and roll into cylinders. Arrange in a shallow pan.
- 5 Let rise until double in size (about 1 hour). Glaze with beaten egg.
- 6 Bake in a hot oven (425°F) for 15 minutes.
