Egg Glazed Yeast Rolls

Ingredients

  • 1 cup scalded milk
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 half cake yeast
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 egg, beaten

Method

  1. 1 Mix scalded milk with butter. When cool, add sugar, salt, and yeast dissolved in warm water.
  2. 2 Add flour to make a soft dough. Mix thoroughly and knead for 15 minutes.
  3. 3 Set dough to rise in a warm place for 3-4 hours until light.
  4. 4 Knead again, shape into balls, and roll into cylinders. Arrange in a shallow pan.
  5. 5 Let rise until double in size (about 1 hour). Glaze with beaten egg.
  6. 6 Bake in a hot oven (425°F) for 15 minutes.
