Ingredients

  • large smooth potatoes, peeled
  • vegetable oil for frying
  • salt

Method

  1. 1 Peel potatoes and slice them into continuous spirals about 1/8 inch thick.
  2. 2 Keep the potato spirals covered with a damp napkin until ready to fry.
  3. 3 Place the spirals in a frying basket and fry in very hot oil until light straw colored.
  4. 4 Remove from oil, sprinkle generously with salt, and serve immediately.
