Deep Fried Oyster Fritters
Ingredients
- 1 cup flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 6 oysters
- 2 tablespoons cornmeal
Method
- 1 Sift together the flour, baking powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- 2 Stir in the milk, egg, and cornmeal until just combined.
- 3 Gently fold in the oysters last to avoid breaking them.
- 4 Drop tablespoonfuls of batter into hot deep fat and fry until golden brown.
