Deep Fried Codfish And Potato Balls

Ingredients

  • 2 cups freshened and shredded codfish
  • 2 cups sliced raw potatoes
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • ½ cup cream or milk
  • 2 eggs
  • White pepper
  • Flour for dredging
  • Deep fat for frying

Method

  1. 1 Place potatoes in a pan, top with shredded fish, cover with cold water, and boil until potatoes are tender. Drain well.
  2. 2 Mash the potatoes and fish together. Stir in butter, pepper, cream (or milk), and beaten eggs. Beat mixture until very light.
  3. 3 Shape the mixture into round balls the size of small apples. Dredge each ball in flour.
  4. 4 Fry the balls in deep fat until brown and crispy. Serve immediately.
