Decorated Christmas Butter Cookies
Ingredients
- 1 cup soft butter
- ½ cup packed brown sugar
- 2¼ cups sifted flour
- Butter icing for decoration
- Candied fruit for decoration
Method
- 1 Cream butter until light and fluffy. Slowly add brown sugar, beating well.
- 2 Gradually add sifted flour and blend thoroughly. Wrap in waxed paper and chill for several hours.
- 3 Knead dough slightly on a floured board and form into a smooth ball. Roll to 1/8 inch thick.
- 4 Cut into desired shapes and place on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 350°F for about 12 minutes.
- 5 Let cool completely, then decorate with butter icing and candied fruit.
