  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 lb dates, pitted and chopped

Method

  1. 1 Cream the butter and add the beaten egg.
  2. 2 Sift the flour, baking powder, and salt together.
  3. 3 Alternately add the dry ingredients and milk to the butter mixture, stirring until combined.
  4. 4 Stir in the pitted and chopped dates.
  5. 5 Pour into greased muffin pans and bake in a hot oven (425°F) for about 25 minutes.
