Curried Split Pea Stew

Ingredients

  • 1 cup split peas
  • 1 onion
  • 1 tsp curry powder
  • water
  • rice for serving
  • acid (such as lemon juice)

Method

  1. 1 Soak split peas for 2-3 hours, then drain.
  2. 2 Fry chopped onion and curry powder in a pan.
  3. 3 Add soaked peas and plenty of water to the pan.
  4. 4 Cook until peas are soft enough to mash into a pulp.
  5. 5 Serve the curry over rice with a side of acid.
