Curried Sardines With Caramelized Apples
Ingredients
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp curry powder
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 1 cup cream
- 1/2 tsp lemon juice
- 10-12 sardines
- butter or oil
- bread bits
- 1 tart apple, cored and sliced
Method
- 1 Mix sugar, curry powder, and salt in a saucepan. Add cream and lemon juice, stirring until hot.
- 2 Add sardines to the warm sauce and heat through.
- 3 In a separate pan, sauté bread bits and apple slices in butter or oil until golden.
- 4 Place a sardine on a piece of bread, pour sauce over it, and garnish with an apple slice.
