Curried Sardines With Caramelized Apples

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp curry powder
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1 cup cream
  • 1/2 tsp lemon juice
  • 10-12 sardines
  • butter or oil
  • bread bits
  • 1 tart apple, cored and sliced

Method

  1. 1 Mix sugar, curry powder, and salt in a saucepan. Add cream and lemon juice, stirring until hot.
  2. 2 Add sardines to the warm sauce and heat through.
  3. 3 In a separate pan, sauté bread bits and apple slices in butter or oil until golden.
  4. 4 Place a sardine on a piece of bread, pour sauce over it, and garnish with an apple slice.
