Curried Rice With Onion Butter Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 cup rice
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 slice onion
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1 teaspoon curry powder
  • salt to taste

Method

  1. 1 Boil rice rapidly for 30 minutes, then drain in a colander and place in a warm oven for a few minutes to dry out.
  2. 2 Melt butter in a saucepan with the onion slice over medium heat. Stir until the onion is golden brown, then remove the onion.
  3. 3 Stir flour into the butter until smooth. Add curry powder and salt, then bring to a boil.
  4. 4 Pour the hot sauce over the rice and serve immediately.
