Curried Mutton With Boiled Rice
Ingredients
- 1 large onion, chopped fine
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon curry powder
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups water or stock
- 2 pounds lean mutton, cut into small pieces
Method
- 1 Chop the onion fine and fry it in butter.
- 2 Add curry powder, flour, and salt. Stir until thoroughly mixed.
- 3 Gradually add water or stock, stirring constantly.
- 4 Fry the mutton pieces brown in butter.
- 5 Add the mutton to the curry sauce and simmer until tender.
- 6 Serve piping hot surrounded by a border of boiled rice.
