Curried Cold Meat With Apple And Onion
Ingredients
- scraps of cold meat
- 1 small onion
- 1 small apple
- 1 oz dripping
- 1/2 cup stock or gravy
- 2 tsp curry powder
- 2 tsp flour
- a few drops lemon juice
- salt to taste
- boiled rice for serving
Method
- 1 Slice the onion and apple. Fry them in the dripping until softened.
- 2 Rub the fried onion and apple through a sieve to create a smooth paste.
- 3 Mix the curry powder and flour with the stock until smooth.
- 4 Stir the stock mixture into the pan and cook over heat until thickened.
- 5 Add the onion-apple paste, lemon juice, and salt. Stir well.
- 6 Add the cold meat and warm through gently without boiling. Serve with boiled rice.
