Curried Chicken With Onions

Ingredients

  • 1 whole chicken, fish, or meat of choice, sliced
  • 2 large onions, finely chopped
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons curry powder
  • 1/2 pint water
  • Salt to taste
  • Acid (such as lemon juice or vinegar) to taste

Method

  1. 1 Finely chop the onions. Melt butter in a large pot or skillet over medium heat.
  2. 2 Add the sliced meat and chopped onions to the butter. Fry gently until the meat is partially cooked and onions are softened.
  3. 3 Stir in the curry powder and fry for another minute to toast the spices.
  4. 4 Add the water, salt, and your chosen acid. Stir to combine.
  5. 5 Reduce heat and simmer until the meat is fully cooked and tender, about 20-30 minutes.
