Curried Chicken With Onions
Ingredients
- 1 whole chicken, fish, or meat of choice, sliced
- 2 large onions, finely chopped
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons curry powder
- 1/2 pint water
- Salt to taste
- Acid (such as lemon juice or vinegar) to taste
Method
- 1 Finely chop the onions. Melt butter in a large pot or skillet over medium heat.
- 2 Add the sliced meat and chopped onions to the butter. Fry gently until the meat is partially cooked and onions are softened.
- 3 Stir in the curry powder and fry for another minute to toast the spices.
- 4 Add the water, salt, and your chosen acid. Stir to combine.
- 5 Reduce heat and simmer until the meat is fully cooked and tender, about 20-30 minutes.
