Curried Beef And Mushroom Stew
Ingredients
- 1 lb roast beef, sliced thin
- 3 onions, sliced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Boiling water
- ½ cup tomatoes
- ½ cup mushrooms, chopped
- Capers
- Flour
- Cold stock or water
- Curry powder
Method
- 1 Place sliced roast beef and onions in a stewpan. Season with salt and pepper.
- 2 Cover with boiling water and simmer until the meat is very tender.
- 3 Add tomatoes, chopped mushrooms, and capers to the pot.
- 4 Thicken the sauce by stirring in flour rubbed smooth with cold stock or water.
- 5 Season with curry powder, stir, and simmer for ten minutes longer. Serve in a casserole.
