Ingredients

  • 1 pint soaked haricots
  • 1 onion
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 turnip
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons curry powder
  • 1 quart water
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1.5 ounces butter
  • 1.5 ounces flour

Method

  1. 1 Simmer the soaked haricots and sliced vegetables in water for two hours.
  2. 2 Add salt, curry powder, lemon juice, and Worcestershire sauce.
  3. 3 Thicken the mixture with a paste of butter and flour.
  4. 4 Serve hot with boiled rice.
