Ingredients

  • potatoes, peeled and sliced
  • cold water
  • salt
  • deep fat for frying

Method

  1. 1 Cut peeled and sliced potatoes into thin match-like shreds.
  2. 2 Soak the shreds in cold water for an hour, then drain and dry thoroughly.
  3. 3 Fry in deep fat using a frying-basket until crisp.
  4. 4 Sprinkle with salt and serve immediately.
