Creamy White Sauce
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/2 cup fat
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon cayenne
- 1 1/2 cups milk
Method
- 1 Melt the fat in a saucepan over medium heat.
- 2 Add the flour, salt, and cayenne, stirring to combine.
- 3 Stir in a small amount of milk until smooth.
- 4 Gradually add the remaining milk, stirring constantly.
- 5 Bring to a boil and cook until thickened. Serve with vegetables, fish, eggs, or meats.
