Creamy Tomato Soup With Cloves
Ingredients
- 12 tomatoes, cut up
- Water to cover tomatoes
- 1/8 tsp mustard
- Salt to taste
- 24 cloves
- 2 heaping tbsp flour
- 1 egg-sized piece of butter
Method
- 1 Place tomatoes and enough water to cover them in a pot with mustard, salt, and cloves. Stew thoroughly until soft.
- 2 Strain the mixture to remove solids and spices, reserving the liquid.
- 3 Rub flour and butter together until combined.
- 4 Add the flour-butter mixture to the strained liquid and boil until thickened.
