Creamy Stewed Mushrooms On Toast
Ingredients
- mushrooms
- butter
- pepper
- salt
- chopped parsley
- flour
- warm water
- yolks of 2-3 eggs
- cream
- bread
- butter (for toast)
- small onion
Method
- 1 Peel and wash mushrooms, then drain them thoroughly.
- 2 Stew mushrooms with butter, pepper, salt, chopped parsley, flour, and warm water. Add a small onion to test for poison; discard all if it turns black.
- 3 Once done, stir in egg yolks and cream to thicken the sauce.
- 4 Toast and butter a slice of bread, place it on the dish, top with mushrooms, and pour the sauce over.
