Creamy Stewed Mushrooms And Onions
Ingredients
- 1 lb mushrooms
- 1 small English onion
- 1 oz butter
- 2 tsp Allinson cornflour
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup water
- pepper and salt to taste
Method
- 1 Peel, wash, and dry the mushrooms. If large, quarter them. Chop the onion finely.
- 2 Fry the mushrooms and onion in butter for 10 minutes.
- 3 Add water, milk, and seasoning. Simmer for 20 minutes.
- 4 Thicken with cornflour, bring to a boil, and serve with rice.
