Creamy Stewed Mushrooms And Onions

Ingredients

  • 1 lb mushrooms
  • 1 small English onion
  • 1 oz butter
  • 2 tsp Allinson cornflour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup water
  • pepper and salt to taste

Method

  1. 1 Peel, wash, and dry the mushrooms. If large, quarter them. Chop the onion finely.
  2. 2 Fry the mushrooms and onion in butter for 10 minutes.
  3. 3 Add water, milk, and seasoning. Simmer for 20 minutes.
  4. 4 Thicken with cornflour, bring to a boil, and serve with rice.
