Creamy Spinach With Beef Jelly

  • 1 bunch spinach
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • ½ cup beef jelly
  • 1 tablespoon warm water
  • Pinch cayenne pepper

Method

  1. 1 Wash spinach thoroughly and boil in salted water until tender, pressing down to ensure even cooking.
  2. 2 Drain spinach, plunge into cold water to cool, then squeeze tightly into balls to remove all excess moisture.
  3. 3 Spread spinach on a table and chop very finely.
  4. 4 Melt butter in a stewpan, add chopped spinach, and dry over low heat.
  5. 5 Stir in flour, then add beef jelly, warm water, and cayenne. Cook until smooth and creamy.
