Creamy Slow Cooked Rye Mush

Ingredients

  • 1 quart boiling water
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 5 tbsp rye meal

Method

  1. 1 Sprinkle rye meal into boiling water while stirring constantly.
  2. 2 Add salt and bring to a boil once more.
  3. 3 Cover and cook slowly in a double boiler for 1.5 hours.
  4. 4 Serve with sugar and cream.
