Creamy Pea Soup With Toast
Ingredients
- 1 pint peas
- Water from boiling peas
- Flour
- Milk
- Butter
- Salt
- Pepper
- Parsley
- Thyme
- 2-3 slices bread
- Fat ham (optional)
Method
- 1 Place boiled peas and their cooking water in a pot.
- 2 Make a thickening using flour, milk, and butter, seasoned with salt, pepper, parsley, and thyme.
- 3 Toast bread slices and cut them into the tureen.
- 4 Boil the soup for about ten minutes, then pour it over the bread.
