Creamy Oyster Chowder With Cracker Crumbs
Ingredients
- 1 quart boiling water
- 1 quart milk
- ¾ cup rolled cracker crumbs
- Pepper and salt to taste
- 1 quart oysters
- 1 egg-sized piece of butter
Method
- 1 Bring boiling water and milk to a boil in a large pot.
- 2 Stir in cracker crumbs, pepper, and salt.
- 3 Add oysters and stir well to prevent scorching.
- 4 Add a piece of butter the size of an egg.
- 5 Let it boil up just once, then remove from heat immediately.
