Creamy Onion Soup With Croutons
Ingredients
- 2 cups finely chopped onion
- 2 tablespoons butter or bacon drippings
- 4 cups rice water or vegetable stock
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon white pepper
- 1/8 teaspoon paprika
- 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
Method
- 1 Cook onions and butter or drippings in a covered saucepan, shaking often until tender.
- 2 Add rice water or stock and boil for 5 minutes.
- 3 Stir in salt, white pepper, paprika, and parsley. Serve with croutons.
