Ingredients

  • 2 oz mushrooms, cut small
  • 1/2 small onion, chopped fine
  • 2 tsp fine wheatmeal
  • Pepper and salt to taste
  • 1/2 oz butter
  • 1/2 pint water
  • A little milk
  • Toast slices for serving

Method

  1. 1 Stew mushrooms and onions in butter until well cooked.
  2. 2 Add 1/2 pint water and cook vegetables for 10 minutes.
  3. 3 Add seasoning and wheatmeal smoothed with a little milk.
  4. 4 Let soup thicken, boil up, and serve with toast sippets.
