Creamy Milk Simmered Hominy

Ingredients

  • 1 cup hominy
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 pint milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Method

  1. 1 Soak hominy in warm water for three hours, then drain.
  2. 2 Cook hominy in fresh boiling water with a pinch of salt until tender.
  3. 3 Drain hominy and return to pot.
  4. 4 Reheat with milk, salt, and pepper for fifteen minutes.
  5. 5 Stir in butter and serve.
