Creamy Mashed Chestnuts

  • Salt
  • Butter
  • Pepper
  • Cream, milk, or stock

Method

  1. 1 Remove shells and boil chestnuts for 10 minutes. Drain and remove skins.
  2. 2 Cook chestnuts in boiling salted water until tender. Drain well.
  3. 3 Mash and press chestnuts through a colander.
  4. 4 Season with butter, salt, and pepper. Moisten with cream, milk, or stock.
