Creamy Ham Bone Black Bean Soup
Ingredients
- 1 quart black beans
- 4 quarts water
- 1 boiled ham bone
- 6 cloves
- 4 peppercorns
- 1 glass wine (for serving)
- 2-3 slices lemon (for serving)
- Fried bread cubes (for serving)
Method
- 1 Combine beans, water, ham bone, cloves, and peppercorns in a large pot.
- 2 Boil on low heat for 12 hours.
- 3 Rub the mixture through a colander to create a smooth soup base.
- 4 Cool the soup completely.
- 5 To serve, add a glass of wine to each tureen, along with lemon slices and fried bread cubes.
