Creamy Cornmeal Mush
Ingredients
- 1 pint cornmeal
- Salted water
- 1 pint milk (optional)
- 1 tsp salt (if using milk method)
Method
- 1 Sprinkle cornmeal into rapidly boiling salted water while stirring constantly.
- 2 Cook for 30 minutes, stirring constantly to prevent lumps.
- 3 Serve hot with milk, butter, sugar, or syrup.
- 4 For cold serving, cut into slices and brown in a sauté pan.
