Creamy Chestnut And Onion Soup
Ingredients
- 1/2 lb chestnuts
- 1/2 small onion, grated
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 oz butter
- 1/4 pint milk
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
Method
- 1 Boil the chestnuts, then peel and mash them.
- 2 Combine the mashed chestnuts, grated onion, milk, 1/2 pint water, and butter in a pot over heat.
- 3 Bring the mixture to a boil.
- 4 Stir in the cornstarch to thicken the soup.
- 5 Boil briefly, season with salt and pepper, and serve.
