  • 1/2 lb chestnuts
  • 1/2 small onion, grated
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 oz butter
  • 1/4 pint milk
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch

Method

  1. 1 Boil the chestnuts, then peel and mash them.
  2. 2 Combine the mashed chestnuts, grated onion, milk, 1/2 pint water, and butter in a pot over heat.
  3. 3 Bring the mixture to a boil.
