Creamy Cabbage And Potato Soup

Ingredients

  • 1 medium cabbage, shredded
  • 1 lb potatoes, diced
  • 1 oz butter
  • 3 pints milk and water (equal parts)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tsp finely chopped parsley
  • 2 blades of mace
  • 2 tsp Allinson fine wheatmeal

Method

  1. 1 Wash and shred the cabbage; peel and dice the potatoes.
  2. 2 Boil vegetables in milk and water until tender, adding mace, butter, salt, and pepper.
  3. 3 Smooth wheatmeal with a little water, then simmer in soup for 5 minutes.
  4. 4 Stir in parsley and serve.
