Creamed Yolk Vanilla Sponge Cake
Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 3 egg yolks
- 6 tablespoons cold water
- 1 1/4 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- pinch salt
- 3 egg whites
Method
- 1 Place sugar and egg yolks in a mixing bowl and cream until light lemon color.
- 2 Add cold water, flour, baking powder, and salt. Beat just enough to mix.
- 3 Cut and fold in the stiffly beaten egg whites.
- 4 Bake in a well-greased and floured tube cake pan in a 350°F oven for 40 minutes.
