Creamed Spinach With Fried Bread
Ingredients
- 1 bunch spinach
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 pinch nutmeg
- 1 tbsp flour
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 onion
- 1 clove garlic
- fried bread for garnish
Method
- 1 Boil spinach until tender, then squeeze out all excess water and chop finely.
- 2 Melt butter in a stewpan over high heat. Add spinach, salt, and nutmeg; cook until dry.
- 3 Stir in flour and mix well. Add cream, onion, and clove; simmer gently.
- 4 Remove onion and clove. Serve hot, garnished with fried bread.
