Creamed Peas

  • 1 can peas, drained and rinsed
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup milk

Method

  1. 1 Drain and rinse the peas, cover with boiling water, then drain again.
  2. 2 Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
  3. 3 Stir in flour, sugar, and salt to form a roux.
  4. 4 Add peas and milk, stirring constantly.
  5. 5 Cook until the liquid begins to bubble and thicken.
