Creamed Peas
Ingredients
- 1 can peas, drained and rinsed
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1/3 cup milk
Method
- 1 Drain and rinse the peas, cover with boiling water, then drain again.
- 2 Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
- 3 Stir in flour, sugar, and salt to form a roux.
- 4 Add peas and milk, stirring constantly.
- 5 Cook until the liquid begins to bubble and thicken.
